What better way to discover the magic of Italy than by visiting it's gardens? That's what Cathy did in September of 2009 along with about 20 fellow members of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD). As Italy is where western culture began it's renaissance it was a great way for the APLD to celebrate its 20th anniversary; by visiting the birthplace of modern landscape design.

Out of that tour she has created a slide show organized around three eras of garden design: Renaissance, Baroque, and Romantic. In about an hour she takes you through six centuries of Italian garden history and gives you some ideas about how to incorporate what you see into your own Mediterranean garden.
