Conceptual Design Detail

I believe the best design process is a result of collaboration between the designer and the client. My first priority is to create a design that expresses your vision.

First I learn how you want to use the area that needs attention, what elements that you wish to see included, and the kind of plants you prefer. We discuss budget early in the process so that I design only those features that you ultimately decide that you wish to have installed. Depending on the size or complexity of the project we may choose to start with some alternative design ideas that we narrow down to one or a combination of design solutions that you choose.

Then I create a conceptual design document that you can give to a landscaping contractor. This document will show the location and character of the various hardscape elements (patio, deck, walkway, etc.,) materials recommendations, and a planting plan.

The contractor prepares an estimate or bid and you schedule an installation date. I recommend that you have me visit the jobsite periodically during the installation to consult with you and/or the contractor.
